The Double Room was quite lovely and comfortable. The bed felt really cozy, perfect after my long drive. The bathroom was nice too, and everything was clean. Only downside was the lack of electrical outlets near the bed, which was kind of inconvenient.

Tucked away in a lovely old building, the dining experience was spot on! The Chicken Parmo was a culinary monster, and the Wicked Lady Rose wine was simply perfect. The restaurant had a nice vibe, and breakfast had a good selection even if it was buffet style.

beautiful decor but needs better amenities
The furniture in the executive room was distinct and added character to our stay. the hospitality from staff made us feel valued and welcomed during our time at the hotel.
Unfortunately, the bathroom amenities did not meet my expectations for a premium stay.

Charming historic stay with excellent staff
I had a lovely stay here, drawn in by the stunning historic architecture and immaculate gardens. I especially enjoyed the diverse breakfast buffet which included everything from fresh pastries to hearty cooked options. The staff truly made the experience memorable with their friendly and attentive service, ensuring we felt welcomed at all times. there was a noticeable noise issue from outside which could be improved for a more restful night.

The pool, sauna, and Jacuzzi were fantastic for relaxing after a busy day. The facilities were clean and inviting. We loved the Gin Night, though food distribution could improve.

Historic building, Leisure facilities, Outdoor gardens
Rooms could use significant maintenance due to outdated decor, ineffective heating systems, and inadequate soundproofing!!! The dining options lack variety, with limited evening choices that fail to satisfy larger groups!!! Signage for facilities needs improvement too!!!

Had an awesome time with friends! The place was close to Raby Castle and Bowes Museum, which we loved exploring. The breakfast was really tasty, and the leisure facilities like the sauna were a nice bonus. The staff were friendly and made our stay better.
Only downside was the noise from outside. it was a bit distracting at times. Could use some soundproofing to help with that.

The venue's beautiful grounds and well-kept historic features impressed me during my stay. I appreciated the decent breakfast selection, especially the Lime & coriander marinated Duck Breast at dinner. the evening noise from nearby events made it difficult to relax at times. it was a comfortable experience despite some disturbances.

The staff's friendliness was exceptional, particularly at reception, making our wedding anniversary celebration even more memorable. Upgrading to the bridal suite was a fantastic decision. the room was stunning and added to the experience. the overall dining options felt a bit lackluster, and the welcome varied depending on attire, which was surprising. Some common areas are currently undergoing refurbishment, which slightly affected the ambiance but was understandable.

The sweeping driveway and beautiful grounds hit you right off the bat, leading into a stunning entrance featuring a roaring fire. The ambiance here really sets the stage for a memorable outing.
It seems like the glamor stops at the door. Our room had not been vacuumed after the last guests, which is a bit off-putting, especially in a family space with little ones. The heating was unpredictable at best, leaving us shivering at night since we couldn’t control when it kicked on. To top it off, the pool was disappointingly small, and the heavy foot traffic from guests attending functions made it tough to get any peace at night.
