Generally scruffy and needs refurbishment. The carpets are would and the rooms dated.
The bedroom was lovely and very comfortable. Bed and sheets were nice,
It was such as shame that the bathroom let it down big time. I must admit i did not enjoy using the bathroom. It was very grotty dirty tiles needing re grouting it made it very unpleasant
Easy to find, lots of car parking, a good sized room which was clean and maintained.
It was a bit of a trek from the bar/restaurant to my room, not much they can do about it but still a trek.
Meal and drink in resturant worked on lap top in room
food in Resturant over priced
The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our extended stay at The Blackwell Grange.
I would appreciate being able to negotiate a long stay discount.
A very nice setting on the edge of town. Our room (disabled) was very good with plenty of room and well appointed.
The restaurant was poor. A so called Continental breakfast was nothing like a continenental breakfast with no bread only toast,no croisants, no fruit no fresh cheese, The coffee was disgusting . The dinner was equally poor. The portion size was mean, the house wine was very poor and the coffee was, again disgusting. The service was only average with long periods of no one available in tyhe room.
the saff were so nice and my room was amazing so was the food
The bed was huge and the room we stayed in for the night was very nice.
Food was good, better than most hotels for same price. There was a good internet connection and the hotel allows dogs and will try to locate you in a position to allow ease of access for animals.
The hotel looks tired and is expensive for the standard. The lounge bar was often unstaffed and it was necessary to ask for service at the reception. Room service was also difficult to contact from the internal telephone but, reception did eventually take the call and order. The drive leading from the main road to the hotel badly needs repairs as lots of pot holes.
I thought the staff were very helpfull & food was value for money.
I thought the price of the drinks at the bar were expencive
Staff were very welcoming and friendly, the hotel its self had a very relaxed feel about it and the food was excellent.
Room nice although the coridors leading to our room look a bit tired. I was concerned when we checked in as there was a wedding taking place and I thought we would be disturbed with the noise - how wrong I was not a peep had a great nights sleep!
Breakfast - as not included in our reservation found the price expensive and not the best quality on the flip side the evening meals were very good.
All staff were very pleasent and helpful. Both evening meal and breakfast was very good. I booked the hotel in order to attend the Great North Run and they were prepared for early check out and the availability of "correct" food. All in all I will certainly look at booking again.
They did a good job of the function that I was there for
Common areas, gym, bars were all very tired and need serious updating. Strange smells in certain areas of the hotel.
Pool ok and gym equipment a reasonable amount of.
The hotel is very well used for wedding functions yet feels it needs a complete make over. Lots of old brass fittings but do not seem to be cleaned so looks tacky.
